About Candid Sports
Taking action shots of our son and his teammates playing soccer turned into a passion for capturing the emotions of young players on the pitch. Every expression, position, touch and tackle revealed our children like nothing else we had ever seen.
As that first season wore on, we found that the photos always generated conversations that helped us keep sports in perspective and grow as parents. The kids loved the shots too and laughed with their new friends about facial expressions, the play or whatever they found humorous. Even in defeat, the kids saw themselves featured in a very positive way.
Though few young players will ever have a career in sports, candid shots can remind us of why we wanted to expose our kids to team sports. You can see resilience, confidence, character, determination and the ability to make decisions under stress in almost every photo.
We don't try to document the game. We try and capture the unique and priceless expressions of children on the field of play, win or lose. Twenty years from now, few of these players or their parents will remember the score. We hope these photos will help them remember how they felt in that special moment.
